A New Lakeview Village
Super 8 Staff
Demolition of the old store and other structures in the former Lakeview Village area was begun in
the winter and is now complete. The Ponderosa Park expansion can now commence as a new entrance and
visitor’s center is built. Grant money the park was awarded will not cover all of the amenities
park officials would like so they have started a drive for financial gifts. Some of these
include an entranceway arch, barbecues, benches, drinking fountains and more. Brochures explaining
the gift program are available at local businesses and the park.

The Trout are About

Last fall fisheries managers drained Horsethief Reservoir and treated it to remove unwanted perch.
Recently the Idaho Department of Fish and Game restocked it with catchable size rainbow and brown trout.
There are no boat ramps so you must fish from the bank, a float tube or other smaller watercraft.

Annual Plant Sale

Come to the Valley County Fairgrounds in Cascade on Saturday May 19th for the
Long Valley Gardeners annual plant sale from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Any plants
not sold on Saturday will be sold at discounted prices on Sunday from noon to 4:00 p.m.
On Saturday only the Cascade American Legion Auxiliary will be conducting their baked
food sale during the plant sale.

Wine-Dinner Banquet at Tamarack May 11

The first Annual Shepherd's Home Foundation Wine/Dinner Banquet will be held Friday, May 11 in the Grange Ballroom at Tamarack Resort from 6pm to 10pm. A live and silent auction of fine collectible wines from all over the world will be held with proceeds going to The Shepherd's Home Foundation. The Shepherd's Home, located in McCall, serves as a group shelter home for youths from infants to teenagers.
